Robin D. Watkins, CPA

Robin Watkins is Chief Financial Officer and corporate director at MEOA. As CFO, Robin oversees the company’s financial management, audit and operations accounting demands. Robin played an integral role in raising more than $126 million during the IPO process and retained Black-owned financial institutions and advisors to position MEOA for success.

 

Robin brings more than twenty years of strategic financial and operations accounting to MEOA. After graduating from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, Robin became a licensed, certified public accountant in Maryland and Virginia and started her career implementing Sarbanes-Oxley mandates for US Airways and other public companies.

 

For more than two decades, Robin held senior and mid-level positions at Deloitte and PwC, providing executive-level strategic planning and audit-readiness advice to federal agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Defense, Justice, Homeland Security, and the US Postal Service. Robin also worked in the White House during the Clinton Administration and as a congressional staffer on Capitol Hill.

 

A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Robin comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and accounting professionals. Her maternal grandparents operated a trucking company and neighborhood café in the Jim Crow South for more than 30 years. Her parents held senior accounting and management roles at the U.S. Small Business Administration, Department of Agriculture and DC Government and continue to advise small, minority-owned companies on growth strategies.

 

Robin is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the American Institute of CPAs, the National Association of Black Accountants and is a parent volunteer at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC.
